When I run scan disk i get the message that it cant complete and that it has to be scheduled to run when computer restarts. Well when the computer restarts the scan disk starts and gets through the first check but then restarts the computer all over again to the point that it starts the scan disk proccess again. Any one else have this happen

Download the trial version of System mechanic, run all of diagnostic tools, it's great. The defrag works much faster then Windows also. It may take awhile to complete all stuff, but it very user friendly, You will be a happy camper when you are done. Heres the link. Good Luck.

when you boot your computer up start it in safe mode..
press F8 about 10 seconds after you boot keep hitting F8 untill it starts in safe mode then do your scan disk from there... doing it in safe mode you have nothing loaded drivers/programs it is a DOS type scan also check on how much disk space you have free.

it needs some free space in case it needs to move files from bad sectors of the hard disk drive

click on my computer click on c:/ then right mouse click and it will tell you how much space you have free
