I told my friend, we'll call her...um...Lucy, a secret--not about me. Actually, it was more of a lie. I made half of it up to get attention. Lucy promised that she wouldn't tell anyone. Yet my other friend, we'll call her....Susan, just talked to me about it, meaning that Lucy told her. I'm mad at Lucy. I don't really want to tell her because she didn't say the whole secret, just the begining. I didn't lie about the begining. So, basically, it was okay for Lucy to tell the Susan right? Help me please!! I need it!!!

by the way, I changed the names.

If you don't want your secrets told, don't tell ANYONE!

1. Lucy is not a good friend because she's telling other people your secrets.

2. Susan is not a good friend either, since Lucy probably told Susan not to tell anyone that she told her, and then Susan tells you.

3. You are not a good friend because you are making up stuff just to get attention.

All three of you need to get together and resolve this problem and promise to, in the future, be decent friends.

You could fib and tell Susan you made the secret up and only told Lucy to see if you can trust her. Now you know you can't, don't tell her any real secrets. Let this be a lesson to you - in future don't make up stuff for attention. What's wrong with asking for whatever attention you need? I need a hug works pretty well.

You know there is a thing about secrets...if you tell someone then it's not a secret anymore.

Ben Franklin said that a secret can only be kept between 3 people and two must be dead. edit- Tiny Tim - LOL Great minds. I love that quote.

I know what you mean. You lie to get attention, but you don't want her/him to tell. It's normal to do this, and just tell your friend that It was half a lie because you felt like youve been not giving me enough attention and I feel left out/ or and/ I don't want to have to gossip to be your friend, and I felt stressed so I made up a lie.
Everyone does it, I have. Tell her you are in stress and you were upset/angry/disapointed at the girl you "fibed" about. Tell her it was wrong, and that you won't do it again.
There. Problem solved.

You lied to a friend and she blabbed a secret. Neither of you seem to know much about friendship so consider it a draw.
