He's kissing all the female contestants...anyone find that weird?

I remember when the show was in its prime, the host Richard Dawson was a guest on the Tonight Show one night. He told Johnny Carson the practice got started when a grandmother contestant knew what the answer was, but couldn't get it out. Dawson said, "Well, here's a kiss for luck then love", and politely kissed her, and the answer came. Soon after wards, woman were wanting him to kiss them as well. Dawson said there were some who objected, so they asked the viewers to vote on how they would prefer, and it was an overwhelming 80%-20% decision that he should kiss all the female contestants.

that was back before everyone became so easily offended, it was normal for the host to kiss the females. Watch any of the old game shows, the host totally plays grab-*** with the females.

I am soooo old, that it seemed perfectly normal to me, at the time. When I went on his show, all the contestants were asked if they object, and none said yes.
In those days, we didn't know there was such a thing as sexual harrassment. When men made unwelcome advances we just put up with it. It never occurred to us to object. You young'uns have it made.

Back in the 70's it was considered OK. Then it kind of became Richard Dawson's trademark. I think he was the best host of that show to date.

Nah, back in the day, Richard Dawson was quite the "ladies' man" and his kissing of the contestants was what everyone expected.

I think that is true what the other person said. Back in the day the hosts used to be all over the ladies! So i think that's it

no - he is Richard Dawson. Sometimes I think women went on that show just for that kiss from Richard. LOL

he doesnt just kiss this he like all over them talk about flirting..........maybe they didnt get sued for harrassment in those days.......its funny watching the old episodes though.
