i cracked the screen of my ibm thinkpad its a laptop kind of thing just a different name and the crack isnt all that bad and it didnt completely damage the screen but all around the crack there is some kind of purple fuzzy stuff....this all happened when i slamed it close cuz i was in a hurry....please help and the waranty expired and i dont have any insuranse for it and its a used computer and i dont have the money to spend on a new laptop any advice would halp PLEASE HELP

What a coincedence! one of my freinds did the exact same thing! im sorry but even though they cost alot, im pretty sure that the only thing that you can do is replace the screen sorry.:(

you have no choice but to get a new laptop. The purple fuzzy stuff as you put is, is probably the liquid crystal seeping out of it.

You need to take it to a pro person to change the screen!

Get a new screen. Or just get a new laptop.

you can use the (s-video)to connect it to an outer moniter.
I use (s-video) to play dvd's in my laptop but use the tv as the moniter.
