No, it's fine :-)

The baby is well protected in there and probably can't even feel when you poke on your belly.

As long as you aren't trying to purposely harm yourself or the baby, it's fine. Though it's not the specific reasoning, ultrasounds would be much less common if pressure was dangerous.
Besides, there's plenty of cushioning to protect the baby. Until you have feet making dents in your belly, the baby probably won't know much about how you're feeling your belly.

Why do you want to poke around on your belly? You can't really feel much at 12 wks.I'm 26 wks and wouldn't want to poke around on my belly all the time.Don't worry you'll be growing a lot in a couple months.He/she will be poking at you from the inside.Congrats and good luck!

It should be safe enough if you're not poking TO HARD. Just be as gentle as you would if you were holding the baby in your arms. How much poking would you do then? Not very much I would guess...Gentle! Gentle!

no its not unsafe when you go to the dr and they listen to the heartbeat they press that doppler pretty hard on your belly so if that cant hurt it then just feeling around cant either

It's fine, go ahead.

You would hurt yourself by applying too much pressure long before you would hurt the baby.

No it's ok. I wouldn't start jammin your belly but feeling around won't do anything. The doctor does it and well, it doesn't cause any harm.
