Do people actually listen to heavy metal,classical,rock,rhythm and blues,country,reggae or anything else on purpose? Of course they do! Why would someone be listening to something if they didn't want to here it. I am a singer and love all types of music.I love Whitney Houston, Beyonce, John Legend,Dixie Chicks,Herold Melvin and the Blue Notes, and Mozart. So yes, I do listen to hip hop and rap on purpose, but I listen to several other genres of music as well.

ignorant question, people listen to music they can relate to a great deal of the time and many people relate to rap/hip hop. Others like the catchy hooks and beat, ya dig?

yes, people do. it's not my cup of tea, but i do listen to it sometimes because it's got a good beat for dancing. if people like it, there's no reason for them not to listen to it and you shouldn't judge them for that.
