I mean if the person wants to feel good, even though it's bad for his health, why not let him take them?...It's his body and it doesn't cause anything bad for the people around him.

It does affect people around him. Society has to pay for that person's medical bills, (if he works) his employer suffers, family suffers, etc. Spreads around eventually.
It's actually not all that different from asking why we have criminal laws at all. Shouldn't we just let the victim punish the criminal (like via a lawsuit or something?). We've decided that certain actions hurt the public at large. That's why the DA represents "the People".

Are people who take drugs able to think clearly? What if someone who is high, decided to get in a car and go for a ride? What would you think would happen? They would most likely kill someone.
This is most likely why. To protect other people from the person who is taking the drug. You are not yourself when you take them, and you are able to cause harm to others.
Stop being foolish.

Because the gov cannot control the making and growing so they cannot guarantee profit margin. That is the only reason. See cigs are banned indoors, 50ft away from buildings etc...but they are still regulated and money and TAX is being generated
