I'd like to think there's a difference between rudeness and bluntness- honesty is a good policy to follow but sometimes it leads to misunderstood intentions. If someone says I am rude, I go back and ask why they feel that way and what, if anything, I could have done to reword myself and apologize, if need be.

Oh, yes. And I probably will be again. Sometimes I just can't stop myself from snapping at someone especially if I feel like I'm threatened or a friend or loved one is being jerked around. That ticks me off & when I'm angry stuff just tends to slip out there in a not so nice manner.

Unfortunately, it's my job. I am a finance manager. I have to ask people personal questions. Income, credit history, etc.

All too often. I'm blunt. I think I'm telling people stuff that they want to hear and invariably I find out that I have ofended them instead.
