I'd like to pop over the border for some shopping, via car. What documentation do I need to get through the border? Thanks!

If you are driving you do not need a passport until January of 2008. This year you are fine. If you are flying into Canada or Mexico you will need a passport this year. By the way, you dont need a passport to get into Canada or Mexico, but to get back into the USA>

No, the change in law that requires a passport takes effect January 23, 2007 for those entering Canada by AIR only. For those entering Canada by land or sea the new passport requirement does not kick in until January 1, 2008. The US State Dept. has the rules here: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbp...
