I have purchased a wireless router and the new computer has wireless capability, its telling me I need to have a usb adapter, how costly is that and I am not wanting to run cable from one computer to another

Here it is fast and dirty.

Connect Cable modem to cable connection.
Connect Wireless router to Cable Modem.
Any computer you want to connect wirelessly needs to have either a built in wireless adapter or an external adapter, such as a USB Dongle, CardBus card or a PCI card.

It's really easy just double click the wirelss icon in the bottom and select your wireless network or network with the strongest signal strength usually. one you have done this you can type 192.168.1.1 in the browser and configure the various settings in the router you need to know the router's default password for this. This depends on the router's model, use google or hit me back with the model number.

No. a community extender can not artwork without SIS 3.0 compliant cable gateway which will provide you a modem, router, and wifi multi function field. Dish would not grant information superhighway provider.

try best buy or circuit city they are the least expensive for usb adapters and they can assist you on how to hook up your rig

the adapters not expensive check out best buy ask the dude what he thinks. they are usually pretty helpful about such things.

If you have a router you call the manufacturer and they will walk you thru it.
