OK -- maybe this has nothing to do with being pregnant, but I woke up in the middle of the night coughing and chocking. It felt like fluid was filling my chest and I couldn't stop. I had to sit up and drink water.

I am probably just coming down with a cold, but something like this has never happened to me before. Could it have something to do with my sleep position? I was sleeping on my right side.

The additional pressure on your midsection might cause sleep apnea or something like acid reflux. Did you also have a terrible taste in your mouth? You shouldn't with the sleep apnea but you might with acid reflux. It could be from the baby's weight on your internal organs, I've heard of overweight people having something like this.

this happened to me several times, but i wasn't pregnant. maybe we was both just choking on our own saliva. when u r pregnant u do produce more saliva more than usual.

probably Gerd --- just stomach acid in your asophogus.
If so, it's normal. Take a Tums (if pregnant women are allowed to).
If it is a problem, see a doctor.
