I`m almost 16. My mum and dad don`t let me anywhere without them eventhough i get good grade and don`t get into trouble. I tried to talk to them about it but they just won`t listen. All i want is just a fraction of independence that other people my age get. What can i do?

your parents love you and are protecting you from the dangers - temptations out in society today. i think your parents are scared because there baby is growing up. i would just recommend talking to your parents. everyone needs time to hang out with friends, and everyone needs time to themselves to. and if you do get to spend time with friends, dont mess it up, or they wont let u do anything with your friends for awhile.

in the begining of the adolesence ur parents still think that u r there little child and u think that u r adult and u think that u should be independent this is not about u only this is quite normal
u can't behave as adult because u r not
but u have to join any sport or friend group so that u could feel that u have ur own personality and could be independent and responsible
u must know that ur parents love u and by the time they will realize that u r not their little child anymore

I can completely understand. When I was your age my parents didn't let me out of the house. I couldn't even become a cheerleader. I am know 26 and thankful for that. I have never done drugs and did not have sex until I was in college. They just want you to be protected. There is allot of temptation out there and the consequences can be quite serious.

Your parents really love you and want to protect you as much as they can. Try talking to your parents about responsibility and that you're ready for more. Just talk it out and negotiate with your parents. Well only 2 years until you're out of the house.

I think you could at least ask them for a lot of privacy and a day that is just for you and your friends. Like Saturday?I mean i am the same way, but my parents trust me enough for tons of privacy.Maybe they just don't want you to do things they might have done or something like that. Its just what parents do they just don't want you to get hurt.
