Well, best would be Dom, in my opinion. But, if you are on a budget and/or serving many people and don't want to spend the cash, Moet is a nice alternative. Moet is usually about 30-40 bucks a bottle and tastes good.

Generally, with champagne, you get what you pay for.
Once I bought a bottle of New York State champagne for $2.95.
It was the worst wine I'd ever tasted. We poured it away. Don't bother with anything under $30 or anything that is not French . It will be worth it.
I remember being served NY state "house wine" at a restaurant in Lake Placid (I'm wandering off topic, aren't I?). It was so bad that we poured the vinegar bottle into it and we all agreed it tasted better!
Whatever you do, do NOT by spumanti instead. Eeeuugh!

i've drank my fair share of andre in college but upped it to martini and rossi this year... if you do go the cheap route, i highly reccomend spumanti or there's a version called "cold duck"... i believe it may be made by andre. I bought a bottle of each variety of the cheap stuff my senior year of college and handed one to each of my best friends right before the ball dropped. We tried them all and cold duck was surprisingly good for costing 6 bucks a bottle...
