Its tricky to answer specifically because you don't say if you want SCSI, IDE or SATA drive. You also haven't specified the exchange rate for whichever "dollars" you use (Canadian? Australian?).

WD are a good brand - better than Maxtor or Seagate. It has an 8 MB cache, which is a good size. 7,200 RPM means you'll get a decent performance too.

Found a 300GB Seagate for $69.
