Some women do ovulate while on their periods but it is rare.
To test if you are ovulating you can do several things:
One: You can buy a basal body themometer from a drugstore. Sometimes department stores such as Target or Wal-Mart carry them Your body tempature when you are ovulating will be lower than when you are not ovulating.
Do not use a BBT like a normal themometer because the change in your body temapture is so slight you will not most likely recognize the difference unless you use it in your vagina.
Two: Check your discharge. If you are not on your period you can check the color and texture of y our discharge to see if you are ovulating. Normally when you are ovulating you will have a clear odorless discharge that has a texture much like the texture of eggwhites. Do you know that texture? If not crack an egg and remove the yolk (the yellow glob) and touch the clear stuff surrounding it. Your discharge should feel and look like that but have no scent at all.
You should not check your vaginal discharge while passing a bowel movement or the eggwhite discharge may appear to be in your vagina even if it is just something that is forced while making a bowel movement.
Your period is not when you are ovulating. Your period is merely the shedding of your uterus. Many women would have to wait to be on their periods and hope that their husbands or boyfriends want to have sex with them while bleeding in order to get pregnant so we are lucky that is not when.
For some women that is the only time they ovulate.
You can google search ovulation chart and give the first day of your last period and that will give you an estimated time for the next ovulation day and it is not always accurate or exact.

No! On the contrary!
Ovulation is the release of an egg from the ovary. That usually happens 12 to 16 days after your period started.
You won't notice it or anything but that egg will be waiting to be fertilized inside of you. That means: that's when it's easier to get pregnant.
This doesn't mean you can't get pregnant any other day, even on your period, especially if it is not regular.
So remember: you ovulate about two weeks after your period.
I hope I made myself clear

No, ovulation is when you are releasing an egg. It's when you are able to create a baby with unprotected sex. It occurs, on average, 14 days after the start of your period. Then you get your period, on average, another 14 days later. It's different for everyone.

no ovulation is when your egg has dropped and your at your peak vertility. when you have your period that means that sperm did not reach your egg and now your egg has demolished and the lining of your uterus falls away . you ovulate 14 days after your period ends usually if you have a normal cycle of every 28 days(a lot of women dont have this). I do though. some women do it every 32 which is normal too 27-34 i think.

No, ovulation is when the egg is passing through your Fallopian tube in a time span of 14 days. This is a time when you are most fertile, and can easily get pregnant when you are ovulating. After the egg passes, and it finds no sperm, after 14 more days your period comes.

No ovulation is when your egg is being released. Your period is when your lining is being shed.
