I think it would depend on how much you plan on using your phone. If you use it a lot, it would be better to go with a monthly payment. If you plan on rarely using it, then it would be better to go with a pay as you go. Most people who don't use their phones very much go with the pay as you go.

It depends on how much you use it. Pay as you go usually costs more per call, but if you only plan to use it for emergencies or not very often, you can make the money you add to your account last a long time. Cingular has a Pay as You Go plan that costs $1 each day that you use it and mobile to mobile calls are free. Their $15 cards expire in 30 days, but cards over $25 expire only after 90 days and the $100 cards give you a year to use them up. For someone who makes few calls on a cell phone and then only to another Cingular user, $25 could last 3 months on a Cingualr Pay as You Go plan. However, for someone who plans to use the cell phone all the time and send text messages a monthly plan would definitely be cheaper.

that would depend on ur finances. if u know u can afford say $40 amonth every month for 2 years then i would sign a contract. if u can't then u had better do pay as u go.
depending on where u live, most companies r going to have u sign a contract to get the best price, but if u zonk out on them there is a steep disconnect charge. pay as u go is what u can afford now with no loosing anything
there is also a company down here called metro pcs that charges u a flat $40 a month with no contract and no time limits on minutes as long as u STAY IN THEIR AREA, very important to know where their area is because if u roam out of it, that is when they GET U
so check around and see what u can afford and what is best for u. good luck and H N Y to u and urs

Depends on how much you intend to use it. Do some research on the cost of plans and see what fits your needs and budget best.
