Yes. It is.
They have championships and have to train just as often as regular sports teams, in some cases, more often.
And cheerleading is very hard on the body...throwing people around, defyin gravity...etc.

By many high school athletic associations, it is considered a sport. And despite the fact that you can get scholarships to cheer lead in college, most universities don't list Cheerleading under the Women's sports. Most list it with other links.

Yes. I never was a cheerleader, But I was a gymnast. I know a cheerleader uses alot of the same muscles and skills as a gymnast. I respect them and the training they go through to achieve their skills

yes cheerleading iz definitly a sport. Az much 1 az football, b-ball, etc

it is, but a lot of ppl dont understand it. originally it was just to help cheer on a football team, or basketball team, but now there are competitive cheering competitions.

most people dont get it though, because its not a sport in the sense of scoring goals, like hockey, or football.

personally i would consider it a sport but offically it isnt and ther the facts, hopefully in due time it will be considered a very noble and outstanding sport ^^

competitive high school and college cheerleading - YES

rinky dink 12 yr old cheerleading that doesn't go into competitions - NO
