After reading your question my head had begun to spin in circles. For your sake I hope that you have never given a hitch hiker a good bye kiss, that is something you do with people you trust or care about. If you are in europe it is a respectful greeting, but never kiss a hitch hiker unless you have any hidden desires of being raped, murdered, battered, or just really creeped out by a potential pervert. Besides that, hitch hiking or giving hitch hikers a ride is quite often not the most intelligent thing to do in general. I'm sorry that you had to even ask this question without having known the answer yourself. Try reading a book on "street smarts." Good luck in the future.

Your question assumes I pick up hitch hikers. I do not.
If I did, I would be mighty happy that they got out of the car, sans kiss.
If anything, the hitch hiker is obligated to you, not you to them.
They should offer some cash, if they can.
