I think you need to study up on legal systems. Everybody is entitled to a defence in court and a lawyer to represent them

I think it is very important for the world to understand that Saddam was provided justice that he was never entitled to.
The liberals who keep spouting about his rights to an attorney are missing the fact that the US Constitution provides this right to AMERICANS.
Saddam never gave his victims such justice.
And as far as the Y!A users, I am not surprised. The fact that two conservative questions have lasted 15 minutes today IS a surprise.

Are you kidding. Lawyers represent child molesters every day in the United States. If a lawyer can represent those kind of people, surely there are those that will stand in line to take a high profile case like Saddam's. I would guess that you are more naive than stupid.

Well the right-wing defended him to start with and is why he never took the stand, they would hate to have American's know what the rest of the world does...
The US put Saddam in Power, and several members of both Bush Administrations, and Reagan were in shady deals with him.
Keeping him off the stand kept that from getting too public.
Conversly though it will make him a martyr when he stands up to the great satan before he is hanged.

I get the sense a lot of these folks are against the death penalty in general, not specifically for Saddam.

I think I am shocked that Cindy Sheehan and John Kerry didn't think to go over to Iraq and protest for Saddam. Another wasted publicity opportunity. .

Admitting Saddam is a murderer that deserves to be executed means that they might have to admit that Jon Stewart is not their messiah and the moronic bumper sticker politics that everyone's on their high horses about might be thoughtless.
Gee, maybe the world was too hard on Hitler too eh?

No, I never thought that I would live to see the day when people would stick up for a brutal dictator. These people would have tried to placate Hitler.

I don't think we understood the mentality of the Muslims in Iraq. No, I personally never thought I would ever see anyone defend him... and especially not an American attorney.

The rapidity of the execution reminds me of the era of lynchings in the American south. In most civilized countries a death sentence brings an automatic appeal. The whole trial was a sham.
