Doctors diagnose and prescribe treatments. Pharmacists deal with drugs and make sure the doctors don't prescribe something stupid or that will kill the patient (happens a lot more often than you'd think).

Hi, Confused Lover! Patient, physician and pharmacist really make a cognizant triangle in the field of health services. This triangle goes on rotating with no halt. Physician's technical acumen and pharmacist's sincere skills are sine qua non to bring a healthy smile on the patient's face. During the modern era, a pharmacist is not as independent as either a patient or a physician. The role of a pharmacist has been completely transformed because of the growing dependence on the manufacturing chemists for their skill in releasing ready made pills, tablets, injections etc.that are easily available in the market. A pharmacist's skill and knowledge are supplementary and complimentory to that of a physician's diagnostic and prescribing skill. Pharmacist's role is not directly appreciated because he is overpowered and shrouded by the manufacturing company. He is not seen and his skills are not experienced by the patient. The patient never thinks of the pharmacist in getting cured. If a pharmacist is highly inquisitive and investigative, he can help both the patient and the physician in the field of curative methodology.
I really appreciate and thank you in posing such a thought-provoking question. Wishing your project a signal success!
