My high school choir director said "heavens to mergatroid" and she also would use "mannachevitz" (and I probably slaughtered that spelling) as an exclamatory remark, which I found extremely amusing coming from a Catholic lady.

I say "Heavens to Mergatroid" sometimes. One co-worker says "Holy Snikeys" or something like that.

that's funny just the other day I said Heaven's to mergatroid but the thing that I find hysterical is when my 11 year old son says "What the crud"... or if he doesn't like something he says it's butt crud... for some reason it's comical.

Guilty!! I have said Holy shmoley lol. I have kids and it is better sounding then saying holy sh*t hahaha. But as for the other two I have never heard anyone I know say them.

My dead Uncle Ed used to say Heavens to Murgatroid all the time, I have no clue what that even means.

Not too many people of the average crowd. But I have seen folks use these sort of phrases when they are trying to cut down on using profanity. - Sounds silly but it seems to help.
