I usually pay them a few days before the due date.

It depends on if I have the $ at the time and when my payday is. Sometimes I am a couple of days late but I do pay them.

I pay them via the net, and as soon as they are issued. I don't have a lot of bills (thank god), but I don't make a lot of money, either! It's survival!
