I can't believe any person would kill an unborn baby. Its just terrible to hear that something like this would happen. I think it should be illegal. Don't you agree? If you don't agree, can i have a reason?

If a man punches a 2.5 months pregnant woman in the stomach and the baby miscarries, is he a murderer?

Until a fetus can live without its host (and that's what the mother is at that point), its not an indepent being. And if its not an independent being, then it is not murder, which is your premise on why it would be illegal.

Its very easy for someone to sit on the side and say that abortion is wrong, but unless you're in every situation, what right do you have to say that? Rape and abuse are wrong, and if the baby is conceived under one of those it could certainly destroy a woman's life. If a woman's life is at risk because of the pregnancy, is her life worth no less than the fetus? There are women who have post-partum depression so badly that they are suicidal: if one of those women conceives, do you believe that her life is worth any less than the fetus?

Think about this scenario: a woman conceives a deformed baby, one that in nature would not survive the pregancy. However, she is not allowed by law to terminate it and in fact is required to give it postnatal care which prevents nature from taking care of it. A baby born at 24 weeks can suffer its lifetime (possibly as a near vegetable) because of the relative morality of pro-lifers

Then there are the babies conceived and live in the shadow of drugs. Are the pro lifers going to intervene in these cases? Are they going to support these children until they are old enough to care for themselves? What about the ones who will need care for their entire lives--who will take care of them?

There are many reasons to concieve a baby, many reasons to have a baby, and many reasons why someone should not have a baby. It is up to each person's mind and heart to determine the which one is the right one for her.

Yes, killing innocent human beings should be illegal. Here's why:

the women of my mothers generation fought hard to have that right...it doesent mean you must have an abortion because you can. or use it for birthcontrol.
heres a story...My daughter was raped and held captive when she was 17 by the time she was let go it was too late for an abortion...not only did she have to carry this baby for 5 monthes more, but because of the things they did to her, the baby had no brain and she had to carry a baby she knew was going die, to term.
Then she had the baby, and nobody wanted a baby that was going to die.
I brought him home, We took care of him the best we could and loved him. he died in my arms 2 mo later.
but you have to know she relived that pain every time she looked at him.
if he had been normal, it would have been diffrent maybe...
but you cant get an an abortion even if the baby is severly deformed if its a couple weeks too late, because of the laws inplace, because people abused the right, like people abuse everything, alcohaul, drugs, you name it! I suspect the baby was in pain because he could not regulate his temperture, thus he was in a constant state of hypothumia,
was it right for him to suffer? he did nothing.
a child conceived in love or even like...
should not merit an abortion...but there are good reasons to keep the abortion laws in place.

Abortion can never be stopped. It can be made illegal. That just means people with money can pay a Doctor to give them an illegal abortion and the poor will be forced to have what they used to call a "back street abortion" where the woman runs a high risk of complications or even death. There are also many natural herbs that will induce a miscarriage. So, you see it will never be stopped.

Abortion cannot be stopped because a desperate woman can do it herself. Its common to think that if a woman becomes pregnant, she is single and thinks abortion is no big deal. But I have met many married women to whom abortion may be the only way to keep her other children fed and warm, and whose husband supports her in this decision because the pregnancy would result in a significant loss of the ability to support the children they already have. And I have never in all my almost 60 years met a woman who thought it was an easy decision, or, one who didn't know she was carrying a child. I hate to see their struggle trivialized by a few to make a point without purpose.
You could I suppose make it illegal as it once was before, but all that happened then was that women died of infections and were rendered sterile when it was performed by incompetent men and women. If that idea doesn't bother you then I have to ask what your reason would be.

I am pro-choice through the first trimester. After that, I really don't think it should be an option. Blanket laws that affect the entire female population as a whole would not work when the decision and situations are of an individual nature.

I don't agree because if it is made illegal, health status per person will drop dramatically in this country. Why? Because the number of backstreet abortions will rocket sky high.

I think when you or your kind are in charge of the world maybe we will care what you think . I too would like to know how many children born into bad situations every day you are helping out . If the parent or parents don't want the child how good will it's life be . I don't think most people are pro abortion , but they are pro choice . Don't try and inflict your will on others

I hate abortion also-However I am not a female and I have no right to tell a free U.S female that she doesn't have that right-if you believe that there is a judging God then she will be judged for it -it is not for us to judge her predicament that she may be in IE.-being raped or there are some cases where the fetus and mother will definitely die if she doesn't abort-So yes I hate abortion but I do see it as HER choice and not ours-However I'm strongly against partial birth abortion that is disgusting ..PEACE

i am almost 60 years old. i was around when abortion was not legal. women would be in such desperate circumstances that they aborted with coat hangers.
if you have not walked in someone elses shoes you should not condemn!
i knew a young girl, she was almost 16 she got pregnant. her mother was dying of cancer and the young daughter was the only income in the family. (the father had passed away the previous year and neither the mother or the daughter wanted to involve social services.) she worked at a long john silvers restaurant. she was desperate to the point of trying to abort herself.
i am not personally in favor of abortion, but neither am i one to say what another woman's choices should be and neither should anyone else!!!
perhaps if you were in a desperate situation yourself you would not be so quick to judge!!!
