Badass. Calling any fashion "outdated" is redundant because all fashion trends running around the masses has its roots in the past, somewhere.

That depends if you look good in a hat. If the hat suits you, its badass. If you aren't a hat person, or the shape looks wierd on your head, then you might look awkward. I like a man who can rock a hat, anyone who has individual style can't look outdated.
