i'm all for it if our country says "ok, we need to go take care of business in Iraq, and here's why.....", but only if they tell us the TRUTH going into it, and listen to the people and the advice of our military. from the get go, this war has been one mistake after another, covered with lies and incompetence. i might be able to find the tiniest shred of respect for those involved if they could just open up and say "listen..... we F'ed up.... here's where we're at, and this is what we can do about it". but they dont, they just keep feeding us the same lines, and they have no goals, no strategies, nothing.
this cabinet is the most inept group of leaders in the history of human beings.

George W. Bush has plunged this nation into a perpetual war. Here's what James Madison, our founding father would have said to Mr. Bush:
"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes. And armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended. Its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied; and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war...and in the degeneracy of manners and morals, engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."

It a nessecity. You can not have peace without war. Not all conflicts can be solved with a casual chat. In this case, muslim radicals do not respect people who want to "chat". We can not sit around and do nothing as people like Saddam Hussien funds these terrorist. While he was not directly linked to the terrorist acts of 9/11, he is reponsible for countless others. He also lets terrorist orginizations have these "training camps" in his backyard. Yes, American soldiers are losing their lives but look at how many have died in comparison to the past wars. WWII, we lost well over 300,000 lives to a war. In the Korean conflict, we lost 55,000 soldiers and the Vietnam war we lost slightly more at 57,000 soldiers. And by no means am I saying that death of an American soldier is a good thing, however, when you sign up for the military, you know that you are to serve your country live or die. And most people know that you have a good chance of being deployed to another country. In the same breathe, yes, I would love to bring our soldiers home. We need to end this war right now and put a stop to global terrorism.

I feel like we got sucked into a very complex conflict that will be very difficult to get out of by leaders who lack integrity and foresight. The lack of planning for a post invasion Iraq is just as incompetent as the response to hurricane Katrina. It comes down to things like basing personnel decision on ideological litmus tests instead of competence. These failures can be counted in the number of dead and disabled soldiers. Our soldiers are precious resources that should not have been squandered in such an idiotic way.

It's much more than stupid.
It is a mistake of vast proportions that will impact America for many years to come. The end of Saddam's life or the war itself will not end the negative effects of either.
May God have mercy on us all.

The part in Iraq was stupid from the start; the part in Afghanistan became stupid when it became clear that Osama wasn't going to be captured as a result.

Stupid and immoral in the first place. And after 3 years of incompetence, hopeless too. Not one more drop of american blood should be spilled over it.

Just a way for the powerful countries show their power on others. They should think about the casualties that happen in a mere show of their superiority. Also, its a waste of money and resources.
