"Homo" also means "same" or "equal," as in the word homogenous.
I once owned a male cat who not only allowed male cats to hump him, but allowed kittens to do the act of nursing from him. Not that they got any milk, but....
Yes, male animals hump each other. Sometimes it's a display of dominance, chances are most of the time it is. But I have questions about my cat.

Yup speaking as someone who has owned aninmals of different species and sexes you will often see male animals getting it on with other male animals. I even once saw a female dog hump a female cat...that one actually confused me.

I don't think that animals have the capability to understand homosexuality, but I know there are some out there that would disagree with me, but I frankly don't care. Therefore animals don't have the cultural boundaries and the mindful insight as humans. If there acting homosexual, they truly don't know any better.

Yes, my husband used to have a male cat that would let other male cats have sex with him. He would sit out on the balcony howling for male cats and he would find many "suitors". :)

YES. My dogs both are males and they did sexual intercourse to each other.... I was surprise to see them doing dogie style hotly... haha!
