I would say for its time probably Resident Evil. Which is also the best game of its time. Fatal Frame is pretty creepy also. and silent hill. But in more recent games i would have to go with F.E.A.R.

Probably the scariest game I have played is on PS2 it's called Silent Hill 4: The Room. It may not scare me a lot, but the music and the eeriness of the game makes you shiver sometimes, especially the music, the music can litteraly haunt your dreams, just when the tune comes in my head, I try to block it away and think happy thoughts, the music is that scary. As for monster, they can be from cool to extremely scary, like the hospital, man those scared the crap outta me. I hope I helped, have a nice day!

Right now probly FEAR. But Resident Evil was the scariest of its time. Silent Hill was just a play off Resident Evil. Resident Evil wins!!

Panzies! Dude. Half life 1 scared the crap out of me. Like you're crawling through a vent system, and BAM some crab pops outta no where. Or half life 2, the mission Ravenholme. I'm almost afraid to play that mission again, LOL.

Resident Evil 4. I have beaten 9 times already and still find my self jumpping at times. Anyone say Chainsaw lady coming from behind when ur focused on anotehr in front of you?

silent hill. I played half the game, freaked out, and now its in a box under my bed. That game is consolidated evil in a box. 0_0
or the clock tower (original) That terrified me.

resident evil....may not be the scariest now days but to me it is the most original and memrable...so yeah residnt evil
