For security reasons, how do I identify the hard drive in a dead Dell computer before I dispose of it?

For security reasons, I want to find the hard drive and destroy it before I throw the old computer away. I've opened it up, but I have no idea which part is the hard drive.

what was wrong with your computer?
you could prob sell it on ebay as someone can repair it or mail it to me :-)

how big was the hard drive? you could install it into your new computer as a slave drive.

to find your hard drive open the case see the big white cables? there should be 2 of them not the one that goes to your cd drive the other one yep thats your hard drive it should be silver about 3.5"x5" just unscrew the 2 or 4 screws you may have to open it up alittle to get at the screws on the other side
remove the cables etc then slam it a few times with a hammer that should take care of it lol but i would keep it
