No, the 6 week rules was invented by OBs who believe women are too dumb to know their own body.
If it doesn't hurt, go ahead. If you experience more bleeding afterwards you may need to wait.
As to those who say no because your cervix is open. I would like to point out 1) your cervix opens slightly during ovulation and 2) if you are dilated, but your waters haven't broken a doctor will tell you it is safe to have sex. Ergo it is safe if your cervix is open and there is no baby.
Some people sure do like to swallow the garbage doctors spew to feel important without every thinking logically (Not you the one asking the question, see you are questioning just the ones who are going to give me thumbs down and spew off about all the things they have been told)

I stopped having sex when i was 5 months pregnant until 2 months after i had my baby (I had a c-section)
I don't know but sex was the last thing on my mind after having a baby.
I would wait the 6 weeks out. If it was okay then doctors wouldn't tell you to wait 6 weeks. But people do not wait that long. You better use condoms because i know people that when they went for their 6 week check up they were pregnant again.

You need to wait until after you have seen your doctor for your 6 week check up and get the go ahead.
There is a chance your cervix has not completely closed yet and if that is the case, then you run the risk of getting an infection.

I am a nurse. The reason that they generally advise women to wait 6 weeks is to prevent an infection of the vagina/uterus. I would wait as close to the recommended 6 weeks as possible, if I were you. It's for your own protection. Even if you feel great your body still needs to be given adequate time to heal.
Congrats on your new baby!

I was in the same boat as you. I was fine having sex at 4 weeks post, with 2 of my pregnancies. If you do have sex, and start bleeding afterward, try waiting a little longer. Also, be VERY careful as you are VERY FERTILE right now. I got pregannt 8 weeks after my 2nd was born.
Light some candles and enjoy!!!!

I didnt have to wait six weeks *well i did anyways but didn't have too* and I had a third degree episiotomoy and still tore... Four weeks after i had my son my doctor was like ok everything looks good to go, You can start having sex again.. Call me if you have any problems.
So basically when you go to your dr for your post pregnancy check up ask her if you can.

Wait the proper amount of time. That is what the six week check up for you is for. To make sure all is well with your body.

Still wait. Are you taking birth control? Right now you just went through a serious traumtic experience, and while you think you are ready your body may not be.
Unless you're taking birth control or ready to deal with a baby, just wait another 6 weeks.
