We see each other in passing, but we are not friends. And I am positive his wife would not have approved.

I was so caught off guard, and scared because he is a LOT bigger than me, that I didn't tell him how inappropriate that was. I was also angry because I can't imagine what I could have done to give him the impression that showing up at my door like that was ok.

Whenever I asked him what he wanted, he would smile and couldn't give me an answer.

Should I say something to him the next time we run in to each other, or wait until it happens again?

I think that you should say something to him. Like you said, he is bigger than you, and these days people are crazy. He could be a predator or something, so I say approach him on it, and if he does it again, I would go to the wife. You have to look out for your own safety, especially if you live by yourself.

Why are you so bothered if all he did is show up at your door? You don't have to let him into your home. Install a security chain or bolt and tell him in future you will not answer the door after dark for security reasons. Don't wait until it happens again, he may take inaction as encouragement. You could always call someone if he knocks again and keep them on the phone whilst you go to the door.

Your best bet, is to go to his house when he is gone but his wife is home and ask her if everything worked out ok?

When she askes what you are talking about, explain that her husband had stopped by unannounced the other day and he was unable to recall what he needed. You assumed that she had sent him over to request something and he had forgotten on the way.

Then leave it to her to talk to him.

If he comes by again, make sure to ask who it is, and look outside, if he is alone, just state that you are not dressed, ask if there is something urgent that he needs and if so, tell you what it is now. If he will not, then ask if he could come back later, or tell him you will stop by when it is alright with his wife.

If he starts to harrass you, CALL THE POLICE and file a reprot.

Good luck.

Go over to his house and tell him off in front of his wife! And why are you bothered by the fact that he is a big guy.? That doesn't mean he can force you to do anything. Women have rights!, you know?

immediately go talk to his wife and explain what happened if you live in an apartment tell the super and if not tell several other people so they will know what is going on that is entirely appropriate so get it taking care of NOW and I do mean now you are headed for a train wreck if you do not

He really could be a rapist. BE sure to tell your husband what happened.
Might be nothing but I would be scared to death.
Can you go to the courthouse and see if he has a record.
Whatever you do dont tell his wife
she wont believe you anyway.
quit waving to him when you see him too.
he might have confused one of your neighborly smiles with an invitation.
