Hey noone should be forced to listen something(especially music) it`s not fair.If they force that kid well i suppose that`s sort of abuse... i like it myself but parents are to tell you about schools, and boys, parties, drugs, clothes(by the way i hate those pink dresses with frills) but not MUSIC
Gosh i guess that`s nothing left in this world for us teenage, we can`t live(literally)our eighteen first years of life....

I think the parent should let their kids have a choice in the music they choose to listen to.
Sure I like rock music and some of the newer stuff and of course country music,,,but I have 4 teenagers and they all are into different types of music. The only time I feel that a parent should step in when it comes to certain music,is if the music contains alot of foul language,,then if it were me I would say they can listen to it with head phones but that I really don't care to hear it....

Well my parents make me listen to classical music when I visit and at this time of the year its Christmas carols and I find that very annoying but parents will always annoy their kids I suppose, my daughter doesnt like me singing along with the music she is listening to, you cant win. I hope they are not being tied down with the earphones strapped to their heads and being forced that way, then there would be a problem. Im afraid its just a matter of different tastes and your friend could always wear earplugs to avoid the situation!!

Rock music is the best kind of music EVER!! They should let their kids make up their own minds. Eventually they will go the Rock route because, like I said before, Rock is the best.

I am not sure where they are forced to listen to it but:
If its the car...well its my damn car and I am usually driving thier happy asses somewhere so they could walk or deal with it.
If its in the house well then there ya go again its my house.
When they have thier car or house they can listen to whatever crap they want to.

Nah I am kidding actually my kids have pretty much the same taste in music as I do.

I listen to exteem metal and my two year old hears it. He likes it and dances to it. That is what I listen to it. If Patents listen to rock and play it all the time and the child hears it is not making a kid listen to rock....when there old enough they can go to their room to listen to their own music.

It must be hard for the children because I think that everyone is free to choose what kind of music he/she is going to listen!!!!!!!

Since the kids are constantly exposed to new garbage like hippitty-hop and emo, its the folks' duty to ensure that the kids are also exposed to real music.

Wel, me - myself listen to Punk Rock, but hey - if you don't like it, then I don't think your bloody parents should make you do it.
