After 9/11 Americans wanted revenge and I am one of them. But, I wished revenge against Al Queda. We started out well, heading to Afghanistan. But our President was obsessed with Iraq and had been since before 9/11 ever happened. He managed to use manipulated intelligence, a bogus connection to 9/11, and the people's wounded minds and hearts to garner support for attacking Iraq. Then, after he had to admit that all of that was bogus, the reason morphed into freeing the Iraqis from the clutches of Hussein. He convinced Congress, most of our allies, and the American people that there was a connection to 9/11 so we all would support attacking Iraq. All of a sudden the war on terror changed into the war against Saddam.
The twist here is that now he can rightfully claim that there are terrorists in Iraq. He blew the country wide open and let them in, of course there are. Now we are stuck in a political nightmare that he seems to think military action is going to solve. I hope this helps explain the difference between the action the American people expected regarding 9/11 vs. the blame they now lay on him for taking us into Iraq for trumped up reasons. They are two different things, though there are still many people who can't deal with the whole thing unless they continue to connect the two. Blame all of us for believing him and just accepting his "evidence" as truth, we weren't prepared to believe our President would lie to us when we were reeling from 9/11. I don't think most of us will ever be that gullible again.

The Democrats followed along like good sheep and should take some of the responsibility . But if you stop watching Fox news for your information you may find out about a little gas pipeline going through Afghanistan and Iraq that the President needed to complete . Most of the 9/11 terrorists came from our good buddy Saudi Arabia not Iraq

Exactly. First they wanted revenge, they wanted the US to do something about terrorism, now they want us to call it a day and pull out. Bush said at the beginning, it was going to be a long war, and it would take time. He told the American people it was going to be like this from the first day of the war. Now the whiners accuse him of lying and deceiving the country.
Huh??
And I think President Bush gets blamed for alot more than he deserves, simply because some people hate him now. Mistakes have been made, yes, but he is certainly not the only one who made them.

if they wouldn't have lied about the wmds, and iraq being involved in 9/11, no one would have supported it in the first place.
