I will be a bridesmaid and we will more than likely be wearing open toed shoes (the selection for closed shoes is always limited). Here is my problem, I've been battling nail fungus for the last few years and refuse to show them in public until they hopefully get better. But now I don't have much of a choice of keeping them hidden for this one day. Sure I could paint them, but I've seen many women do that but it still looks gross anyway - but not as much I guess. Any other suggestions besides painting? this is very embarrasing to post this on here

It is against state regulation to do pedi or mani work on anyone who has a condition - as it could be spread to other clients. So the salon is not an option.

I had a similar problem a few years ago and i solved it by wearing pantyhose with the shoes. if you explain the problem to the bride she will probably let you wear them and the reinforced toe of the pantyhose will cover the problem. worked great for me. if all else fails painting is the only other option.

The pantyhose and pedicure solutions are good, but don't solve the real problem. You can also choose an almost-closed-toe sandal that flatters your foot shape while obscuring the toes.

See a doctor for a prescription and real cure. And keep the infected area very clean and dry. Throw away old shoes that may be reinfecting the area.

To treat nail fungus, your doctor may prescribe an oral antifungal medication, such as:

Itraconazole (Sporanox)
Fluconazole (Diflucan)
Terbinafine (Lamisil)

These medications help a new nail grow free of infection, slowly replacing the infected portion of your nail. You typically take these medications for six to 12 weeks but won't see the end result of treatment until the nail grows back completely.

You're going be declined if you go to get them done at the nail salon. Or you should be, at least. As a licensed cosmetologist myself, I know that we're not supposed to work on clients with any type of condition like that.

I'd pedicure yourself. Just be sure to sanitize everything because you don't want the fungus getting ANY worse than it is!

Maybe after the wedding go see a doctor, they should be able to give you some medicine to clear up the fungus!

I would just wear the darkest panty hose I could find and have a French pedicure done to cover your nails. A French manicure always makes the nails look better (and longer).

Try getting a pedicure at a professional salon?

Go for a pedicure and paint them. Remember no one is going to looking at your feet except you!!. Every one will be looking at the bride.

File them so they are not bumpy and then paint them?
