I know that I could start an ebay store and that would provide quite a bit of marketing. If I decide to host my own web site though, what are some effective marketing tips?

There are thousands of websites that offer free advertisement. Other than that pay per clicks with yahoo and google. If your in it for the long haul and don't just want to make a quick buck, I recommend SEO or search engine optimization. With this you have to be tremendously patient. Getting placed on top of search engines is a process which takes work. Good Luck.

Networking is the best way to get the word out about your product. Look for local networking groups in your area. You can also see if there is a Leads Club in your area. It's a great way to promote your business.

Try selling just a few items on eBay. That way you get the marketing, but don't have to pay commissions on everything you sell.

Advertise everywhere all the time. Make business cards with your website on them, make flyer's, have your website on your car. Do whatever you can to get your website out there. Good luck.....

Make a signature line on all of your outgoing emails.
And put a bumper sticker on the back of your car.
Also mention it on your answering machine or voice mail messages.
