at first i read this and thought, "that's not even a question"

but the answers that i've seen are beautiful.

i'm totally pro choice, what someone does with their body is their own business, do not try to control them. that's complete bullshit.

there is a very high chance that an adopted baby will become a "criminal" because of the environmental stress that adoption puts on a child.

you may argue that, "it's their body but the baby isn't theirs", but again. bullshit. as a parent why would you want to let a child into this world when you're not ready for it? why would you want your firstborn or even any-born child to come into this world whan you are not prepared for it? i'm sure that if it was your own, you would want to be the one to raise it. not some stranger.

also, unborn babies cannot feel pain. they don't have conciousness until about the middle of the 2nd trimester.
where as the abortion would be within the first trimester before the fetus' starts growing exponentially.

if you don't like abortions, then i suggest you just turn the other way. if you don't like what you see or hear, then don't look or listen.

----------------

also, all you pro-lifer's are like damn christians. trying to "convert" everybody to pro life. maybe they don't want to be pro life. leave them the hell alone. damn. get a life of your own and stop worrying about others.

here... i'll speak in "christian" for you:

only god may judge, so don't you go calling names to people or saying that what they do is evil or wrong. because then you're sinning and sinning is well.. opposite over hypotinuse, and of course will get you sent to hell.

i don't believe any of you pro life humans are god... therefore you cannot judge anyone or anyone's actions.

you cannot look down at one like you are a superior because that is like trying to be god. which i believe is also a sin.

--------------------

abortion should be restricted after the 1st trimester. in my honest opinion, but people have their own wills, people may do as they please.

------

and about how you should just "close your legs" or "use birth control"

1st off, sex is a natural craving. like eating. everybody has a sex drive, weather it's high or low. once a person hit's puberty, it's a natural instinct.
FACT: Dolphins are another animal that have sex for fun.

2ndly, birth control and condoms and whatever, aren't always the best. my best friend is a birth control and condom baby. his parents used both condoms and birth controll and he was still born.

-------

are you sure that abortion is a selfish act?

realize that many children have parents who are pro life, and don't want their children to go to foster homes because they want to be the ones to raise them, and therefore the kid's go through poverty while being raised and made fun of in school for not being able to afford new clothes and being on free lunch.

who the hell would want that? it's makes all the "scrubs" feel like ****.

------

turning your back to someone beating another is a totally different thing.

that was just oblivious.
and you're dumb and trying to pull things out of your *** and you should just stop now. before you make yourself look even more stupid and pathetic.

----------

one final thought before i end..

"you cannot miss, what you have never had." -me

meaning, yes, you may love the child you have had. like i do, i love my son and i think, how could i have ever thought that. but think like this, if you would have never had a child, you would not miss him/her.

I myself am a struggling single mother of three boys and with my last pregnancy I considered abortion (wince), against my religious beliefs. However I felt desperate and alone after a split with their father and felt that I had no choice but to at least give it consideration. Well, I now hold my baby boy now three months old, rock him and talk to him and wonder how I could ever have thought about getting rid of this innocent human being in regards to my stupidity & carelessness. He's honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am really in love with him. So yes, I would rather struggle finacially for 18 years to watch him grow into a handsome man who I hope I can instill the right values so that he is never faced with a choice like I had to make with him. Because a child should be a gift no matter what. I believe that anyone who is emotionally capable of having sex is emotionally capable of living with the concquences of their actions. I say this without prejeduce and I don't want any nasty remarks please. Best wishes to all :0))

I should add that if you are not in a place that you feel you can keep your baby, there are so many wonderful and caring families out there who would love to have their own baby and be thrilled to give yours a life.

when you have sex and get pregnant, you made that choice to possibly bring a new life into this world- having sex was created to make children! that is what it does, and that is something that will NEVER change. so, i wouldn't be able to raise every aborted child, because i can't raise some-million babies (4000 each day). giving a child a chance to live a life that, yeah, could be a bit screwed up, is better than not giving them that chance at all....plus, that screwed up life could help them grow into the strongest person ever who could end up being our next president....and yeah, maybe they'd be some psycho murderer, but how are we to tell unless we give them the chance to live. and, lastly, you said mind your own business...if you want people to do that, then don't post these kinds of things for people to answer.

Abortion is an irresponsible form of birth control. From the point of conception, there is something growing that will be a human being. Abortion presents an irresolvable moral dilemma, to allow abortion, and deny the fetus life or to require the mother to bear a child she does not want. Better answers are to use birth control or to put the child up for adoption, but the bitter reality is that there is a limited demand for some children based on their race. It is not something that can be fairly resolved with bumper sticker type arguments.

Actually, many pro-life people already adopt, and most of them don't feel that abortion should be illegalized outright. I'm one of them. I think it should be restricted (NO abortions in the third trimester, unless it's a matter of life or death, restricted abortions in the second trimester. By restricted I mean that a woman can have an abortion only if her life is at stake, or if it's a case of documented rape. By "documented", I mean that the assault survivor should have gone to a clinic IMMEDIATELY, before she knew she was pregnant, to have a rape kit done.), and that women should be educated BEFORE they have an abortion done. They should be made aware of all physical and emotional pain that will be a result of it, and they should also have access to a list of couples in their area who are willing to adopt, and take on all medical costs.
Abortion should NOT be used as birth control. And excuse me, but it IS our business. If you're going to use the "not your business" defense, then I suppose if a woman wants to drown her babies, it's none of my business, right? After all, they're her children, and because they can't survive apart from their parents, they're not a viable life form yet.
WRONG. Don't want children? DON'T HAVE SEX! Or, USE PROTECTION! That's what condoms and birth control are for!

Edit: As for the person who said that those who think abortion is okay in cases of rape and endangerment of the expectant mother's life and no other case is hypocritical, it's this "black and white" mentality that's getting us into trouble.
Either you're for it or against it? What about all the pro-choice people who say that they support a woman's right to choose, but don't support abortion itself, especially in the third trimester? Is that not hypocritical as well?
Excuse me for taking a moderate stance. It's called being REASONABLE, something that's sorely lacking, as demonstrated by this question and several of the answers, and the fact that so many people would give a MODERATE stance so many thumbs-down!
I guess that proves that what's right won't always be popular, and obviously, others who are with me don't share the "popular" opinion. I'd rather be right.
It's not my place to judge a person, but I can say that I think certain things are wrong. Abortion is WRONG, in my opinion. Period, end of story.
But I know that if I had gotten pregnant when I was sexually assaulted, I could not have carried that child to term, especially since I wasn't a Christian at the time. I couldn't love the child because of how he or she was conceived, and I would hate myself for giving up a child I would never want anything to do with, especially with how badly I want a baby.

Look if you are prepared to spread your legs then you should live with the consequences, I am totally pro - life in all aspects. And explain why we should support your mistakes? There are so many childless couples out there that would be willing to look after any child that they were given. I think that they only one that should mind their own business is you, I don't know what point you are trying to justify or if you are trying to make yourself feel better over something that you have done. But lady you ain't getting no sympathy here.
Everyone has a right to life, simple as that, there are so many other options open to people now. We live in the 21st Century abortion should be abolished, it is almost a humanitarian crime. If you are not prepared to live with the consequences then don't have sex.

What is so difficult about using contraception? Prevent a pregnany from happening if you don't want a child or keep your hormones under control... You know, abstinance works EVERY TIME...Don't KILL a baby because you're not wanting to pay the consequences (9 months pregnant and give up for adoption if you can't handle it...) of your actions... There are sooooo many couples that want and can not have a child. They would love to raise your child and are on huge waiting lists and spend a LOT of money on fertility plans, adoption and court fees, etc...

Abortion, if not for the purpose of rape, incest, or mother's life being endangered, is a VERY SELFISH act.

What's next? "I don't want to deal with my handicapped or disabled child, put it to sleep."

It's human life... should I turn my back if my neighbor is beaiting his baby or elderly parent?

To CLARIFY to the ignorance of the person below me.... I did NOT say it's OK in those cases... I just didn't call those ones "selfish"...
