i myself have never seen santa, but i still believe in him in a different way. i kno that he doesn't come and give presents to everyone, because i myself or anyone else i know have never gotten a present unless itz from their firends or their family members. I believe in him because he was real or he might be, but he doesn't come to every house and give presents. this is his historic definition of Santa Claus

Saint Nicholas of Myra is the primary inspiration for the Christian figure of Santa Claus. He was a 4th century Christian bishop of Myra in Lycia, a province of the Byzantine Anatolia, now in Turkey. Nicholas was famous for his generous gifts to the poor, in particular presenting the three impoverished daughters of a pious Christian with dowries so that they would not have to become prostitutes. He was very religious from an early age and devoted his life entirely to Christianity. In Europe (more precisely the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Germany) he is still portrayed as a bearded bishop in canonical robes. The relics of St. Nicholas were transported to Bari in southern Italy by some enterprising Italian merchants; a basilica was constructed in 1087 to house them and the area became a pilgrimage site for the devout. Saint Nicholas became revered by many as the patron saint of seamen, merchants, archers, children, prostitutes, pharmacists, lawyers, pawnbrokers, prisoners, the city of Amsterdam and of Russia. In Greece, Saint Nicholas is sometimes substituted for Saint Basil (Agios Vasilis in Greek), a 4th century AD bishop from Caesarea. Also, the Northern part of the Netherlands and a few villages in Flanders, Belgium, celebrate a near identical figure, Sint-Maarten

I don't think santa is real like flying reindeer type stuff... but I do believe that back in time there may have been a man name nicholas, or something like that, who was very giving and such. Like the "st nick" theory. Then the story just escalated, as everything does in America : 0 )

happy holidays

Santa is real in the hearts and minds of Children therefore it also becomes real to us as grown ups because we are apart of their lives and I believe no matter how old we get there will be a little bit of a child in all off us.

I'm stuck in the middle! I send him letters and sometimes I leave out milk and cookies, but in reality I know he isn't real. He couldn't possibly drink that much milk! After about the 53rd house his body would start rejecting the lactose and Santa would start barfing!

Although a unique character of fiction, Santa, nonetheless, is real. Everyone knows who Santa is.

I think he is real only if you believe he is, the spirit of christmas is the magic of children and watching their face light up and do things for them so they will have a child hood dream to believe in. So Santa is real if you want him to be in your heart.

He is real to a lot of little people in the world and I would like them to continue believing as that is the innocence of youth we need to cherish and preserve, especially at this time of year and when we have so many wars going on. Reality isn't all that it is cracked up to be!
