The Twins are pretty tight, but they seem to step up and pay guys if they think there is gonna be a big fan revolt if they don't, like Radke's last contract, and Hunter's. I bet they will do the same with Morneau and Mauer this year, and Santana when the time comes. The key will be getting them to sign extensions before they get out on the open market and the bidding wars begin. If that happens, Johan is gone!

Matthew P is right, he'll command way too much money for the Twins to sign him beyond the 2 or 3 years left on his current contract.
As a White Sox fan, I can't wait for him to be gone!

I, truthfully, am not particular about the deal. for sure, Santana is a great ranging pitcher. He has great stats,. (fairly rattling strong era in my opinion.) he's youthful, he has a destiny prior to him and this is mind-blowing because it receives. yet Phil Hughes change right into a key function contained in the Yankees fulfillment this year. I recommend come on, i understand the pitching change into fairly a lot lifeless. yet Hughes gave the impression to be able to tie some loose ends mutually. (With help, for sure.) Melky, in my opinion, is merely starting up to mature. He throws and catches rattling nicely, and he's not screwing up as a lot as he change into earlier. 2008's searching strong for him. Hank's made it sparkling that, (if I keep in thoughts properly, which i'd not,) Joba's staying in pinstripes. inspite of the indisputable fact that, we are able to ascertain what takes position. He could play out his career there but if it gets to the point where he is a winning pitcher on a loosing team and becomes the pitcher who keeps the twins from loosing 5 straight games then he will want out.
