Ok.

Thank you everyone for the helpful answers about PCOS and pregnancy.
I went and got 3 HPTS and here's what happened:
Test 1 was done around 12pm and an extremely faint line showed up.. you could barely see it, but it was there.
Test 2 was taken around 6:45am and once again a very faint line showed up, but then after a minute.. it disappeared!
Test 3 was done around 9:30 and it showed up negative..
My husband and I were not ttc, and our boys are adopted.. so not anxious or stressed.
I am going to see my specialist on the 2nd of Jan and will be having a blood test.
I am nauseous(the smell of bacon this morning nearly sent me over the edge..lol) and my sense of smell is really strong My breasts don't ache but they feel denser. I have this nagging discomfort in the lower part of my abdomen, have an overwhelming desire to eat pears, tons of gas indigestion constipation. I also am sure that I am pregnant. Did anyone else have this problem with HPTs but knew they were?

It's possible that the HPT are wrong. I would suggest going to your doctor and having them do a blood quanatative (sp?) test and do another 48 hours later. The reason people tend to get false negative is because they are either taking the test too early or because their hormone levels are low. If this is the case, the doctor can give you progesterone to help make the pregnancy "stick". It may be OK..but it's best to know for sure. Good luck.

yes i was around 9/10 weeks pregnant before i got a possitive pregnancy test, and i knew something was not right, i think all in over the 2 months i took about 5-6 tests lol. i spent a fortune.!!
your hormone may not be strong enough yet to show a possitive test, but when you get the blood test you will know for sure. good luck xx

I took a HPT before I was expecting ,y period and had a very faint line, I thought it was negative. Deep down inside I knew I was. I had been feeling tired/sleepy, breast a little on the tender side. I took a HPT after I was expecting my period and it was a darker line. Finally went to the Dr's and they said I was pregnant! Good luck!!

I was pregnant with my son for 4 weeks and the hpt came out negative. I did not get a positive result until i was 6 weeks along! The only thing I noticed before I got a positive result was that I was exhausted and my skin was extremely oily....and I was very clumsy!

No. The only problem I had was trying to talk myself out of the test being POSITIVE. As for the other symptoms, I doubt it has very much to do with pregnancy, even if you are pregnant. To be honest, I think you are probably going to start in a few days...I hope you have success next time though....

By the sounds of it you didnt read the instructions very well. You're not suppose to perform the tests that close to each other, due to false readings.

They should be done within several days of each other. That way the hormone can collect into your urine again. If you pee on a stick twice within a couple of minutes your not getting the hormones on the stick that you're suppose to.

HPTs give false negetives all the time. You need to check with your doctor to know for sure. Good Luck!
