I was watching this show on Sci-Fi called "Count Down to Doomsday" and they were talking about how robots are getting more and more intelligent and more complexed, and could one day dominate the Earth and have complete control over humans. I know it sounds a little crazy, but...could this really happen??? But what I don't get is that if scientists are really afraid of robots and machines getting smarter, then why are they making them so intelligent, they're the ones causing this!

Actually all of that is really cool to imagine but we have so many things to stop electrical stuff these days its not even funny. We can use electromagnetic waves, back up drives, virusis and alot more to counter attack a smart robot. If anything we can just blow it up. But we have designed computers to be user friendly. Whether or not u believe me, computers couldnt truly survive without us. Updates, upgrades, status checks, maintenence etc. And im sure the engineer who designed it wants to do all of those things when the bot is up and running. But cool and creative question. Finally a question with some substance. (future, mankind, less work, more complex lifestyles.)

Does it really sound that crazy?

Humans will always make mistakes, but a robot can be made to be flawless. If you make a robot that can make other robots, then there can be a whole robot society.

And robots are being made to be intelligent because they simplify human life.

No, but that's what Futurologists (Scientists of the Future) think, and all this Science FIction mumbo jumbo is Fake. The Fi is actually fiction! And if they dominate the Earth, it will be all our fault!

No, that's not going to happen any time soon! The technology just isn't there for robots or computers to become self aware. We are not just decades but hundreds of years away from that kind of 'Terminator' scenario.

An electro magnetic bomb could render any electronic device useless... including man hating robots. Then again, anything is possible!

Maybe in a few thousand years...I'm guessing their batteries will die before then though. Seriously they require a power source and can be shut down at any time.

As a student of Computer Systems in college i can tell you that all computers are inherently evil and, if they got a chance, would kill us all.

At least that what it seems like
