The ones who have sex at that young age is because:
a) they are curious.
b) they need a partner.
c) they want to feel cool with friends.
d) they do not value sexuality as a gift from God.
e) they do not think about the consequences this may have.
f) they want to compete with other´s who said they had it.
g) they use sex as a way to controll others.
h) they feel like the kid smoking, feels like an adult, mature.
Many parents do talk to their 13-16 teens, but sometimes that talking is not enough they want to live their lifes not someone that dictacted them how to live it. It is better than kids learn about sexual and human reproduction from their trust ones, their relatives than from the outside world where too much bad information and missinformation is around.
Another type of parents do not care if they sons and daughters have sex, they just want them to be protected, they are less conservative, it has a lot to do in the way a parent was taught to control his or her sexual desires.
The next question should be...why kids are having kids....and why there are more abortions than ever before....

Historically, it isn't unusual for 13-16 years to have intercourse. However, with the extension of childhood that society has perpetuated, we seem to forget the most important factor in young sexuality.
No not true love, no not the media, no not rock and roll, not even drugs and alcohol.
Hormones. 13 - 16 year olds are in the middle of puberty and their bodies are hot to reproduce. Hormones fog our faculties all the time, but the older we get the more experience we have to block all that.
Reality check:
Mary would have been about 14
Juliet - about 13 to 15
Helen of Troy, in her mid teens
Get the idea this whole wait until you are older is a pretty new thing?

Cause the parents arent in controll. Its a terrible sit uation now. I didnt have sex till i was 17 and I married the one i had sex with. Was not promiscuous when i was in school. There needs to be a stand with the parent and the child be it male or female. Too much is going on with movies and tv that influence the younger generation. They see it and think why cant I do this. The movies need to clamp down on sex.. BUt hey sex sells so why not ? I think its wrong but i am just one person ..

Because alot of parents don't speak about sex up front with there kids so they don't really know anything about it and try it out...Or maybe they were abused...there are to many reasons for this but I truly believe the more open an honest you are with your child about sex the more they are apt to stay virgins longer....its working for me...two kids 14 and 16 and both are proud virgins!!
