The Democrats have no power to stop the execution of Sadam. The power could be quickly transfered to U.N. in which case some american and british lives will perhaps be saved. The prisoner is held by U.S. troops as far as I am aware and handing him over to the U.N. pending international law dealing with the solution would in my opinion save lives and money pending a solution of the problem. If U.N. do not want him then they can be held responsible for failure to resolve a very simple problem not Britain or the U.S. The only possible good may be to save lives of many muslims in their various communities throughout the world plus other foreign citizens in Iraq or perhaps Europe or in U.S.A. or U.K.

I seriously doubt it. Most Democrats do not oppose the death penalty. Although the thought of death pentaly opposition is pretty much a liberal idea, most Democrats do support it. Also there are some Republicans who oppose it. No one is going to stop the execution of Sadam.
Plus, even if everyone in the US Senate wanted to, they wouldn't be able to stop it. Sadam wasn't tried in a US Court and is not bound by US laws. Congress only has jurisdiction with US law. Plus, in the US, only courts can overturn rulings. Congress doesn't have that power.

Saddam's execution is being carried out in Iraq by the Iraqis. It is an impossibility for the Democrats to step in. This has got to be one of the dumbest questions to ever appear in this forum.

What a loser you are! Your comment implies that America has the RIGHT to interfere with another countries judiciary system?

Should the Taliban stop the America use of prisons for terrorist?

You would do more to learn and understand the issues, accomplishments and failures of elected officials rather than throwing out labels because you have no valid knowledge of failures or accomplishments of elected officials.

Yes they're all going to nonchalantly saunter into Iraq unnoticed with a invisible "bullet shield" around them after Wonder Woman drops them off in her invisible plane.

After peacefully freeing Saddam from a heavily guarded prison they will whisk him away to Atlantis where the Aliens await him.

Ooooooo those DEMOCRATS. As if they think in a bloc like some futuristic movie. God this gets ridiculous sometimes....

Trying hard to take this seriously...Okay, deep breath...

No dear, they couldn't if they wished to. An Iraqi court tried and sentenced Hussein, not an American court.

NO, the Iraqi's convicted him, not the US Government, besides, no matter what the democrats say, they're glad he's gone and they voted to send troops there in the first place.

Only long enough to have you deported to IRAQ so you can be executed along with him. And then we start the trial for treason for Bush. Finally we really go get Bin Laden so he be hanged too

In light of the fact that his trial was sped up after the Dems. took the election--I think our current Adm. waved it's magic wand just to cover their tracks.

Saddam must die in order for the truth about Bush, Rummy, and Cheney to die with him. Ordering a stay of execution to add him to the witness list would have surely been a thought.

I dought it. I think they are just as mad as the Republicans, and everyone seems to think we need to kill him now.
