I would recommend Mary Kay because it is non-comedegenic and won't clog her pores. Plus, they make a really nice line of lipglosses and face powders that would look age appropriate on her. You can contact a local consultant (go to www.marykay.com) to get her a free make-over so she can look proper techniques and try before you buy.

Make-up that young isn't a very good idea. Let her avoid foundation and powder, and let her naturally radiant complexion show instead. Lip Smackers is an age-appropriate brand for pre-teens and tweens. It is created by BonneBelle, and markets their products toward her age group. Burt's Bees is always a high-quality product, and is all-natural, and can fit just about any budget. Their lip-glosses come in a jar, and have a sheer tone that can flatter any skin tone, and leaves a good fragrance. Have her try their lip shimmers, which come in many different shades and flavors to suit anyone's needs. Also try eyeshadow from L'oreal Paris. Their shades are flattering and conservative, but don't let her wear too much make-up. I would only reccomend her wearing lip gloss and a little bit of eye-shadow, just for a nice touch to complement her skin tone. Good Luck!

Make up is make up, there is no special "kids" make up.
I´d rather suggest you talk to her why she thinks it´s necessary to start wearing make up at such a young age. I know the situation in the US is different, but 11 is really young, I started putting some on only for parties when I was about 15, 16.
If you really think it´s okay, don´t have her wear foundation. Modern foundations work really well and don´t block skin pores anymore, but she doesn´t need it. Mascara, eye-shadow and maybe a bit of lipgloss is the most, if you ask me. I wouldn´t want my daughter to dress up like a little flirt at 11. Sorry for the harsh last words. :)

Start your daughter off with good quality products. AVON offers products from MARK which has a line targeted for younger girls. The products are shimmery, glossy and light which generally add some color but actually highlight the girls natural beauty. Remember: Less is more.

These products are inexpensive, browse the sourced website, request a catalog, browse the products on-line, they offer 100% guarantee, if a color is to dark or are not satisfied. Return it, exchange, etc.

Really, it depends on what you are willing to spend on the make-up and whether she is willing to earn the money. Wearing make-up at such a young age is a privilege not a right. And with that I think that it should be a shared cost. However, I think they have brand like wet &wild and Rimmel at places like Target and Walmart. Like I said before, I would not go high end on the cosmetics for some one that age. My girls started wearing it at the age of 12, they were in 7th grade. Of course, they don't feel like they are wearing any if it is not with black eyeliner. I try to teach them modesty.....but you know experience is the greatest teacher. Good Luck!!

I started wearing a little makeup when I was you're daughters age...but not any foundation or eyeliner or something like that.
I started with some lipgloss from Smackers and some light eyeshadow.

Clean, simple and my mom thought it was ok ;)

At eleven, girls start wanting to wear makeup. For lipgloss, you should probably go with Smackers. They are cheap, but good and offer many scents, from balms to glosses. Because she is so young, she probably shouldn't wear a lot of eye makeup. Going to Claires would be good, because they are sets and kits for young girls. Hope this information helped!

There is a brand called Bonnibelle that is sold in drug stores, I used to use it as a child. It makes lip glosses and gloss blushes, nail polish and i think they carry clear mascara too. At her age those types of products should suffice. She doesn't need any foundation on her young skin.

NONE! I think it is a bit too young, unless of course it is for playtime...then it wont be on the face long enought to matter. I don't see a problem with a little lip gloss however.
I just think if we allow them at such young ages to wear makeup, then they may feel that they need it to be beautiful, and not appreciate their natural beauty.

Well, if she really wants to start, and you don't have a problem with her wearring any, here are some products that I would recommend. I am a major makeup junkie, but I always look fresh and natural, unless if I am going to a party. For her age, she does NOT need face makeup. She already has a beautiful glow, so don't let her cover it up!! For eyes, it depends on her hair color. If she is blond, I would get her clear mascara, which adds definition, but doesn't look unnatural. For brown or red hair, go for a brown. I have redish brown hair, and it is the perfect color. If she has black hair, you could get her black, but if you think that is too strong and defined, you can always get her clear. And make sure you teach her how to apply it correctly! Tell her to wipe the tip off on a tissue before applying, and if the brush itself is clunked up, gently wipe it off with a tissue. What I like for a very natural lash, almost like a lash tint, I like N.Y.C lengthening mascara, but Bonnebelle and Great Lash are good too for a more unnatural lash. For eye shadow, if you have no objections, let her try simple colors, like soft purples, blues, greens, and browns. Again, she has a natural beauty at this age that she will never have again in her life!!! Please don't give her bright colors.
If she wants to look older, tell her that the simple colors will do the trick, to make her look like one heck of a mature 11 year old!
I know that 11 year olds really want to look and act mature. For lips, try a clear gloss, like Caboodles(you may even find some things for you too!), Smackers, and Wet 'n' Wild. These are all cheaply priced items for a fairly good quality. Personaly, I still like Caboodles!! I think you can find there things at some Targets. And for eye liner, I'm begging you, make her wait!! She does not need it! When I see little girls wearring eye liner, it drives me nuts. Really, I can't believe her mother lets her go out of the house looking like a little hooker. You know the girls I mean, the ones that are all made up and act like they are the coolest thing since sliced bread. I'm sure your daughter is very sweet and would be sweet with eye liner on, its the messege it sends out to other people. Oh, and why not let her go wild and crazy with nail colors? I still do it sometimes! If you don't like that idea, maybe on her toes. And nothing is wrong with clear nail polish too. And she doesn't need blush, like I have said, like, four times, she doean't need it!! So, please don't bother, unless she really really really wants it. After her sports practice or after some physical activity, see how her cheecks look. You will want that shade. Well, I hope I helped you and your daughter out. I love makeup, and I hope your daughter learns to apply and use it to make the best of her nartural beauty!
