Guitar Hero I or II?

Question

I got a gift certificate for christmas, and I want to get Guitar Hero, But I'm not sure which one to get. Guitar Hero I has a much better song list in my opinion, but Guitar Hero II is newer. Help?

I did a ton of research before I bought my husband's copy of Guitar Hero 2 for xmas. All the reviews I read and research I did said that the graphics etc... were better for GH2. Have fun any way it goes and prepare to be addicted!

Guitar Hero I does have better songs on it, in my opinion as well, but there are some options in 2 that are pretty great. First, you can play multiplayer in two different modes, Coop or face off, whereas the first one only has faceoff. Second, you can adjust the difficulty for each player, so one can be on easy while the second player is on hard at the same time. On the first, both have to be on the same difficulty. Then, the coolest part is that they divided each song into two tracks, so you can play the lead or Rythym guitar part and your buddy can play the bass. That is the GOOD!! Finally, Guitar Hero II allows you to practice each song in training mode, slowing down the song, and isolating any specific parts you need to work on, like ridiculous solos, tough intros, or fast choruses. I think that all of those features make 2 the better buy, because the music is great there as well, even if one has a better overall set list.

Just depends on which songs you would like to jam out to. I prefer II. Just b/c its newer like you said.

You've answered your own question. GH1 has better music. GH2 uses newer technology.
