Our culture is in a serious state of DECLINE. There is a sinister element of subversion in everything today that is considered pop culture. We market crime and degradation to teens and pre-teens who can' think about what is going to happen ten minutes from now let alone 10 days from now. All you have to do is watch one music video on MTV, Bumfights, Jackass, play G.T.A. San Andreas for ten minutes, look at a BRATZ doll, or watch some poor citizen get his head sawed off by a hooded group of militant muslims on Ogrish.com to see the current state of our national psyche. America is slowly sliding into the abyss. No one believes in anything anymore and spirituality is going down the toilet in the name of FREEDUMB. Anything is now possible in the minds of most Americans and it doesn't take too much to push people over the edge of fantasy into the uncontrollable free fall of psychotic reality. "Hollywood" is now in the business of catering to peoples basest urges and the sad part about it is no one feels responsible. Check out that hypocrate Bill O'rielly interviewing rappers Cam'ron and Dame Dash on YOUTUBE and you'll see what I mean. Is it a conspiracy? If it is, it is the most sinister one in human history and I think it actually points to an upcoming spiritual war...And all of this is coming from someone who has BEEN THERE AND HAS DONE ALL OF THAT.

If you are talking American culture, I don't know if the word "decay" is correct. The Industrial Revolution and the Technology Age brought us some serious changes, and all changes have consequences, both bad and good.
• Mobility is our biggest asset AND curse. Before the automobile and the airplane, travel was a hassle. Boats and trains took days or months to get places. People tended to stay in small towns their whole lives, married fellow residents, and made their homes there; the car and the plane opened up a whole world ( literally) to people. You could choose where to go, who and what to see, when you wanted.
• TV, radio, and the Internet bring us information in a second, yet it exposes people to things that may be personally offensive, not to mention keeps us from keeping contact with members in our communities (one of the original ways news was obtained and shared). When Lincoln was assassinated, the news took 10 months to reach every person in America; 100 years later, when Kennedy was assassinated, every American knew in 35 minutes. That's a BIG change.
• The Age of Political Correctness also brought big changes. Respect for all colors, religions, cultures and creeds started exposing others of different kind on a wide scale through the media and pop culture.
Hope some of these help.

I think some of our issues are on a major decline while others are as strong as ever.

One example of decline:

I think when the government started getting involved more in more in the families is when things started going down hill. Think about it. Take the all American household back in the 60's and compare it to the all American household of today..

this is a difficult question to answer, i think we are in a society of potential. the last 6 years i think we've moved back pretty bad but all and all the last 50 years have given us a lot. wemon and minority rights have drastically improved. technology has bolterd communications and medicines. and i believe the "mix" of culture throughout the modern world is building a sence of acceptance and understanding between religions. or maybe im just and optimist =D

Definitly in decline. Morality is a joke, crime is rampant and the justice system is non existent. Life does not mean anything, integrity is not revered anymore. Yes definily in a decline

Probably not. Each generation has its flaws, and we tend to overlook the bad things of the past- overromaticizing them as the "good old days" or "a happier, simpler time".
We forget the ugliness that older generations faced. For example, until the mid 1960's you were forbidden to go to many shops, hotels or resturaunts if you weren't white. If your spouse knocked you around, that was his (or her) business and no one elses. Go back a few more generations and you get filthy dirt roads, bad food, no running water, disease, child labor and so on. Doesn't sound fun to me.

I believe we are in a transition period where the wicked are dieing out. Isaiah 19 tells of a time when every man's hand would be against his neighbor. They are killing each other off.
Psalms 37:9,10,11 tells of a time when the wicked will be destroyed and the meek will inherit the earth. that is right before us.

Yes.

We gain something, we lose something. Mankind gained many thing such as advanced technology, knowledge, etc. In turn we lose some of our roots. But w/o losing them, we wouldn't have been able to make so much progress.
