No one is who they think they are. We think we are these bodies, IE; race color, religion, nationality, job, senses, intellect, etc. but we are not. We are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Vishnu, Jehovah, etc. This world is not our home, it is Maya(illusion) and is temporary and full of misery. The quickest way to realize who we are and get out of illusion and misery is to chant the Maha Mantra (the great mantra for deliverance from suffering and illusion) go to krishnaculture. for complete details Read Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada to understand who you are and every ones purpose in life. also go to stephen-knapp. for universal truths.

Because you don't think, look, sound, hear like anyone. Even most twins are different. You may like the same type of music as your friend, but you probably like different, more, or less bands than them. You may think racism is wrong while your parents don't.

This is an excellent question; I think it depends on what kind of life you've lived, who you know as yourself, and who others have come to know you as. Your life allows your spirit to develop momentum and learn itself throughout its environment, you decide what kind of qualities and what kind of personality that you may project onto others, and other people contribute to what kind of person you are by giving you constructive criticism & by just knowing who you were before they offered their two cents.
I know that I am me because of all of these things.

kind of circular your question....How do you know that you're you?
since I am the one knowing (or questioning in this particular stance), then it must be me the one answering. so in the end it is all about this egocentric me asking and narrating...
