The question should be...does it matter to you? I'm an 18 and 5'2". I'm considered overweight by drs, even though my health(blood pressure, heart rate, no diseases, etc) is perfect otherwise. Also, my husband of 5 years thinks I'm beautiful and shows in how he treats me. However, there are men out there that enjoy being with a smaller woman..that's fine. Size only matters when health is involved, such as being so "big" as to get out of breath too quickly or have too high blood pressure, etc.
As to answer your question...yes it's big--sometimes. I see myself next to a size 6 woman, and I notice a difference. However, my friends range from ages 20-60, and I've noticed the average size is just slightly smaller than me, so I guess in the real world, no, a size 16 isnt big.

Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. Unlike clothing measurements for guys where the clothes is all by inches and is standard, the female measurement is decided by the clothing company, and even then, it fluctuates between the places they are made. For example, I wear a 0 at Express, 4 at Levi's, 2 at other places. And then for Levi's, sometimes a 4 is too big or too small because the same styles are often outsourced to a few different clothing manufacturing shops. If you look at the labels if some clothes of the exact same make, some will say "Vietnam", "Mexico", "Indonesia"... you get my point. So you can't tell a girl's thickness by her clothing size.

It really depends on how the woman is built. If she a hour glass shape, than no. It all depends on the bust, waist and hip measurements. For example 36 28 44 is a nice curvy figure. On the other hand 38 36 40 may be out of shape

Is it 16 in womens or girls? I am 5ft1 and a size five in womens jeans and pretty close to being in the overweight category according to a BMI chart. That would probably be the best way to get an exact answer. Just put Body Mass Index chart in your search engine. It will ask for your height and weight and give you your answer and a healthy range.

It is according to those height/weight charts in the dr's. office.

In my opinion it's overweight, not obesity.
