try exfoliating mask 1-2 times a MONTH:

get a bottle of uncoated aspirin, like $1.00 at wal mart. take 4-5 tablets, drip some water on top, it will soften. squirt some cetaphil OR honey on it, mix. rub onto clean face, and leave on for 30 min or longer. rinse w/ warm water, and Moisturize! ur skin will feel really soft and clean :).

also, if u can, every night after u wash ur face (w/ cetaphil or gentle cleanser), apply thin layer of honey on the face. make sure u have towel on ur pillow, and try not to move around too much while sleeping... honey is a natural antibacterial, so at night it will help kill any bacteria that is on ur face (don't ever sleep w/ ur face touching the pillow!). good luck

As far as scrubs and things, usually for me...that approach inflames the pores and makes them burst into icky red pimples. So a more gradual attack: use a product containing salicyclic acid, such as Clean and Clear wash and astringent/toner. They also have a lotion with salicyclic acid. If you don't have sensitive skin, try the maximum strength.

That, and go to http://www.makeupalley.com and look up "aspirin mask."

Gently scrubbing the skin daily with a chemical-based exfoliating agent (such as salicyclic acid) will eventually keep the pores clear, but ya gotta do it every day, preferably morning and night. And watch what you put on your face, too! Many lotions, makeups , and even hair products can really clog the pores...look for non-comedogenic stuff...

Hope that helps.

everything that has already been mentioned is helpful and should work, but if all other alternatives fail, there is always a treatment that you can do at a dermatologist. its called microdermabrasion. the cost is quite high, so whether you do this really depends on how badly you want to unclog your pores. i am sure that some other suggested methods will help =)

I've always delt with open pores and black heads. A real big pain until I started using St. Ive's apricot face scrub. It's too ruff to use it daily so I also use St. Ive's blemish control. My skin is looking much better. I hope that also helps you.

have you tried proactive? or get some duct tape put in strips and pull them out. if all else fails the sell a little tool (by the clippers) it is a blackhead remover but be carefule as not to push too hard or you can break the skin. noxema at night is a real good cleanser. or use rubbing alcohol to clean your pores.

Try the Ponds nose strips.. If not use a pore scrubbing face soap. Sometimes you might have to just pop or squeeze them out
