Love is such a tricky thing and is so easily confused with lust and/or infatuation. Here are some ideas to help you get it figured out:
* STEP 1: Clarify what love is for you. Write down all your thoughts and feelings about what a loving relationship would be like for you.
* STEP 2: Distinguish between love and lust or infatuation. Lust is an intense sexual desire. Infatuation refers to the initial stage of a relationship, when you are "crazy" about him, but this feeling usually fades over time.
* STEP 3: Ask other people how they define love or know if they love someone.
* STEP 4: Write down how you do feel about him. For example: you enjoy his company, have similar interests, feel safe, trust him, think he is attractive, etc.
* STEP 5: Think about how well the two of you relate to each other. For example: How well do you communicate with each other? How do you deal with conflict? Do you bring out good or bad parts of each other? Can you show different sides of yourself?
* STEP 6: Ask yourself if you see and accept him as a whole person. Love isn't just loving the parts of him you like, but choosing to love him overall.
Tips & Warnings
* The infatuation phase of a relationship typically lasts about six months. You may think you are in love and he is perfect for you. It often takes more time to tell if you are truly compatible and whether you can really love the whole person, good and bad.
* Read books on the subject of love. Wise people have been writing about it for hundreds of years. In the bookstore, look under psychology, spirituality or philosophy.
* Write down any inkling of a feeling that bothers you a little bit about your relationship.
Best of luck to you in all you do!

When you are 'in love' you cannot think of anyone but him, you miss him when he has been gone for 5 minutes, you feel jealous if he looks at another person, you only feel good when you are with him, talking to him. He is the first person you think of in the morning the last person you think of at night. He is the most handsome, gorgeous person in the whole world. (Even if he has big ears, buck teeth and a hump). One minute you are filled with joy the next you are in despair. Being 'in love' is like being on a roller coaster of emotion.
When you truly 'love' someone you are quietly content and you would happily die for them.
Hope that has helped.

When you spend all your time convincing yourself that you are not but then weeks...months later you are still thinking about him.
The above is true, love might just be infatuation! But then it depends how you define love...
People take this 'am I in love/am I not?' too seriously. You like him. Don't use the 'l' word - it doesn't change a thing anyway and complicates and pressures everything. You like him. End of.

If you are willing to give your life for that person. You want only the best even if it means you have to give up something that is really important to you. You put that person first in your life. You respect that person and show them that you love them with your actions and words. They should feel the same way.

You think about him all the time.Every time you think about him or see him, it feels like you're gonna faint, but in the good way.Your heart will start racing and your hands will begin to sweat, but you'll like it.If you aren't even a couple, you miss him constantly. I know what this feels like because I've felt it before....but he wasn't true and left me without reason. It hurts soooo bad! Like your heart got ripped out and ran over by a 20,000,000 pound car. If it's true, you'll know it. I don't know how, cause it's different for everyone, but you'll know it.

Well, I would say that you can't have enough of him.
You want to see him all the time; to speak to him; listen to his voice; touch him..
And obviously, you think about him all the time, and when you do, you have that silly smile on your face.
Does that help?

If he makes you a better person than you would have been by yourself, you're in love.
