I do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare, as I am married, but I am not on my husband's insurance policy as it was way too expensive. Can I get any type of help in NC for medication costs or doctor costs?

Contact your county, there are programs and clinics that will try to help you. You're going to have to be persistent though. Because so many people need these services, they don't go looking for clients. The demand is greater than the supply, so it's going to be up to you to find out what to do, who to call, where to go. Then follow-up. When dealing with a gov't agency, be prepared for long waits and lots of red tape. Don't give up though, keep trying!

My wife was in the exact same position. We live in Michigan so I don't know if it will be the same for you but contact your state or county offices and see what may be available to you, don't let them blow you off, they like to do that, stick with it I am certain there is some help out there for you. Good Luck
