Thank you for asking the most important question. The aim of life is to reconnect with our maker, also known as Krishna, Allah, Vishnu, Jehovah, etc. This world is not our real home. It is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery. We are not these bodies, we are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul. We have to reconnect if we want real happiness and to get out of illusion. Chanting the Maha Mantra is the quickest and easiest way to do all of this. It is the highest sound vibration and can put us directly in contact. go to krishnacultue. for complete details Read Bhagavad Gita as it is BY Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada also to stephen-knapp. for universal Truths and e-books and See DVD The Trueman show with Jim Carry to get an idea of what I mean of world being an illusion

I believe the answer to this question is answered by our answer to this question:
Where have we come from?
If you believe in God and after life believe me you will have no problem answering this question!
I believe we have come to this world to make ourselves better people and for that we have to know what better is and how can we become better.
Well, you see what ever is beautiful is good. We must try to see beauty and do things which are nice then if you believe in after life or not you will have a good life and you won't be sorry of your living.

In psychology, Maslow would say self-actualization. In nihilism, the aim is only to spread our disease. This isn't really a good psychology topic because psychology is mostly behavior. This question is for existentialism.

The aim of life is to realize the God within, him I think. to find the spark of the Divine within.(if one can do that in one lifetime!)
other than that, I think to help each other & love each other.(sometimes very very difficult, if not impossible!)
hmm, that gives me an idea for a question...

Does there really need to be one other than what you decide to make of your life?

In my opinion, we have been given the greatest of gift and the opportunity to become whatever we choose to be. That seems like an awful lot to me.
